(AP photo)KUALA LUMPUR - Malaysian police said Monday that five Filipinos and two Malaysians including an immigration officer have been arrested for suspected ties to the Islamic State terror group. The swoop by the Special Branch Counter-Terror Division of the police in an operation that started last Wednesday was connected to an IS cell in the southern Philippines. Since 2013, Malaysia has arrested more than 250 suspected IS members. Also detained on the same day in Sandakan were two Filipinos with Malaysia permanent resident status. They are accused of helping three IS members from Indonesia to enter the southern Philippines through Sabah.
